So, even though what his approach yields is a series of vividly-coloured, imaginative accounts of how things might have been, these ultimately are little more than modern-day sea-shanties. Do I believe it?

Sure, Menzies can be accused of making certain suppositions and then finding evidence to it the theory as he traverses continents, to the proverbial hammer it all looks like nails. Having been to Crete and knowing something about Minoan aflantis, I found the whole premise fascinating! If they truly did not know where they headed, it was because of the loss of the knowledge of the ancient civilizations.
