This article relies too much on references to primary sources. My suggestion to new readers is to keep away from the last 2 sections of the book, describing the C programming environment unless the reader is interested in how compilers were written in the old timesand the parts about documentation, since we have way better tools for those in modern environments.

In spite of being obsolate and my expectation going down I like very much Brian Kerninghan’s way of teaching stuff. An excellent introductory text to the world of the command line, small tools, and Unix. Open Preview See a Problem?
